Community Events

Echo Parenting & Education is strongly committed to our diverse community here in Los Angeles and beyond. This is a place where parents and children, professionals and other community members can come together for support and encouragement in raising kids, and empathy for the challenges therein. We host several events where you can connect with others who want to look at the act of raising children through the lens of nonviolence.

Community Day

Approximately every three months, participants of Echo Parenting & Education, along with interested friends and family, spend a morning “in community” exploring how to care for children in our society.

Family Dance Party

Yup, we’re serious about shakin’ it. Join Echo Parenting & Education for an afternoon family dance party and get your groove on.

Festival of Childhood

This free street festival is a buoyant celebration filled with art, music, and health activities, providing families an opportunity to nurture their relationships through joy and creativity. Not to be missed!

Peace Day Picnic

In celebration of the International Day of Peace, we meet in the park one day each fall and eat together. A fun-filled, casual way to connect with other Echo Parenting & Education families.  This year’s Peace Day Picnic takes place Sunday, Sept 23 (11-3) at Vista Hermosa Park in Echo Park.

Pumpkins for Peace

Pumpkins for peace is a non-scary pumpkin carving extravaganza that ends with a march around the block, complete with honking car horns and lots of chanting “pumpkins for peace! pumpkins for peace!” This year’s Pumpkins for Peace event takes place on Saturday, October 20 (3-7pm).
